Sex is dead and means nothing now.

By this I mean sex is dead because everything is sex. sexual stimulations are everywhere, in advertising, in fashion, on TV, in film. Sexuality is no longer intimate, personal and private behavior. It is open, encouraged, unlimited, unrestricted, mandatory- a command to release sexual tensions (built up through the sex-everywhere display of sexuality). Everything is sexuality. But if everything is sexuality- then nothing is sexuality. It has become an act such as breathing. We have sex with everything so easily. We can have sex with Madonna, Channing Tatum, and any other highly glorified person-God, because to become this they must create a sexual aura around themselves to become erotic myths so real in our minds.

 I am reminded of how in Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World , John the savage, falls intimately in love with Lenina. Lenina continuously makes sexual advances on John, to which he is completely oblivious. Finally, on the night to which he is going to ask for her hand in marriage, it is soiled by her sexual advances that seem so cold and rudimentary  Her dress has one big zipper on the front for ease of stripping off. And sadly in this act of ease and immediate gratification,  sex has become the dress Lenina so arbitrarily unzips and let drop to the floor like some unholy shroud; meaningless, swift, and mechanical.
